September 21st was one for the books at the Farm! Madison & Kyle exchanged vows in front of their friends and family, you could feel their tender love for each other radiating throughout Oakland. The Pavilion was transformed into an outdoor chapel for this sweet couple who met in middle school. Madison and Kyle’s love story stretches over many years and we couldn’t be happier that they chose Oakland for their perfect southern vintage wedding!

The Proposal: Kyle graduated from Appalachian State University in December 2018, so his parents asked Madison to throw him a surprise graduation party at church. She decided to make it a day full of celebrations starting with a trip to the movies to see Aquaman. With a little help from the Pastor at Turner’s Chapel, where Kyle works as the Youth Pastor, Madison was able to get Kyle to the church without ruining the surprise. She had no idea that the joke was about to be flipped on her! When they arrived at the church fellowship hall, their friends and family surrounded them as Kyle tells her this was all part of his plan. He dropped down to one knee and Kyle asked Madison to be his wife in front of everyone that meant the most to this happy couple!

The Party: Saturday afternoon, Madison and Kyle said “I do” in our outdoor Pavilion surrounded by the most important people in their lives. This little outdoor chapel with large white windows and billowing ferns created the perfect setting for a romantic and airy wedding ceremony. Deep River Charm, the wedding designer, even added vintage doors to the entrance so the Bride could be hidden from view.

The Bridesmaids wore sage green floor-length gowns from Azazie which complimented the white flowers, greenery and touches of soft peach roses in their bouquets. Groomsmen wore navy suits with sage green silk ties. The sweet Groom was almost brought to his knees when he saw his gorgeous Bride in her mermaid gown and cathedral-length veil. Seriously, there was not a dry eye in the room at this moment!

Because church is a very important part of their lives, Madison and Kyle wanted their ceremony in the Pavilion to have the feel of an intimate chapel. Oh boy, did Deep River Charm deliver! As you entered, you’d find vintage doors draped in greenery and four large church windows on the sides of the Pavilion. They replaced the arbor with a beautiful cross adorned with a gorgeous floral arrangement by Floral Designs by Eddie. During cocktail hour, guests could sit in a vintage living room set or mingle amongst the bistro tables for mocktails, called Boone and Woody (named after Madison and Kyle’s dog)!

As guests moved inside for dinner, they found candlelit tables set with mismatched china, vintage silverware and glasses. Southern Smoke BBQ and South Catering stole the show with their incredible spread – shrimp and grits, a mac and cheese bar, chicken sliders, and southern sides like squash casserole, green beans, succotash, tomato and cucumber salad and cornbread. Before dancing the night away, guests enjoyed the delicious wedding cake in three flavors by Twisted Sisters Bakery or grabbed a chocolate chip cookie to-go from the cookie bar!

Advice to Future Brides & Grooms: The new Mr. and Mrs. highly recommend hiring a wedding designer. Their designer, Crystal Smith with Deep River Charm, transformed the Pavilion into an adorable chapel with beautiful rustic windows and large ferns. Madison says, “She takes what you like most and makes your dream come to reality!” Everything was gorgeous and every minor décor detail was not forgotten, from mismatched vintage china to glowing tabletop candle centerpieces. Using a wedding designer or planner allows for pros like Crystal to take care of the details and set up, while the couple and their families enjoy celebrating all weekend long!

“All of these vendors worked together to make this day nothing short of perfect! They are all so easy to work with and made sure that everything turned out just the way we wanted it.”
