This summer our Barn was filled with love as Ashlyn and Trevor promised each other forever on July 20th. These two love birds met through mutual friends while studying at NC State. The happy couple wanted an elegantly simple and southern wedding. The cheerful color scheme brought summer inside the Barn this summer.
Weddings are full of sweet traditions. “Something old, something new, something blue,” is one of the most popular southern traditions we’ve seen brides and grooms incorporate into their big days, but there are plenty of old wives’ tales to go around! Every few months, we’ll highlight wedding traditions on the Oakland Farm blog so you can choose which ones will mean the most to you and your honey! We’re kicking this new series off with one that involves a little liquid courage - burying the bourbon.
August isn't only for football kickoffs and children returning to school. We celebrated the start of our fall wedding season with our first Open House on Thursday, August 22nd. We were honored to host so many talented, local vendors and welcome excited guests through our Barn doors!
We're hosting our first ever Open House! Join us on Thursday, August 22nd from 6:00pm to 9:00pm to meet with talented wedding and event vendors local to the Triangle and Sandhills regions. We'll have our Barn and Pavilion decorated to provide some wedding inspiration as you start (or continue) planning your big day. Plus, you'll get to meet with photographers, DJs, florists, planners and more in person to get a better feel for their personality, style and talent!
