Happy Anniversary, Rebecca + Jacob!

On June 8, 2019, we spent the evening celebrating Rebecca + Jacob’s wedding day at the Farm! These two high school sweethearts spent years loving each other, and they made it official on a warm June afternoon surrounded by the people they love most! Join us in celebrating their one year anniversary, by going back in time to enjoy the details of their classic wedding reception at Oakland.

The Proposal: Rebecca, her sister, and her brother-in-law visited Raffaldini Vineyards for the day to celebrate the end of the week. Jacob wasn’t with them because he told Rebecca he was "working" that day. “As we were taking a tour through the vineyard I turned the corner to see Jacob with a cute set up of a blanket, pillows and flowers. As I walked to him, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the perfect surprise,” says Rebecca. Her friend from college who is a photographer was hidden in the vineyard and captured everything. He pulled off the perfect surprise proposal, and it was such a special day for them both.

The Party: Their perfect proposal set the stage for their incredibly romantic wedding day. Rebecca and her best ladies spent the morning primping in the Farmhouse. They enjoyed lounging in the coziest robes, having their hair done by Meredith Sercy and their makeup brushed on by Erin Kelly. Rebecca’s gals donned blush Bill Levkoff chiffon gowns from Bella Bridesmaids. As her ladies got ready, she slid into her Essense of Australia dress that she found at Lana Addison Bridal. When she came out of the bedroom, her mom, sister, and bridesmaids were floored at how gorgeous she looked in the fitted, white lace gown! They helped her with her jewelry, shoes, garter, and she was ready to go see Jacob!

Jacob and Rebecca chose to do a first look prior to their ceremony so they could enjoy an intimate moment together and get many of their pictures done earlier in the day. Rebecca’s favorite memory was those special moments during their first look. For Rebecca, it was so meaningful to have a private moment together before their ceremony. It’s a good thing they did a first look because a storm rolled in as they were taking pictures with their wedding party and it rained most of the rest of the evening! Tiffany Johnson raced against the clock to capture these incredible pictures before the raindrops started falling. After taking photos, the wedding party loaded up on a party bus to head to First Baptist Church where Rebecca would walk down the aisle to Jacob.

After their sweet ceremony, the Farm began filling with guests to enjoy food from Gigi’s Catering, music by The Ultimate Sound, DJ Mason Morris, and cake by a family friend, Christine Gautier. There was even a cookie bar to keep guests fueled while spending the evening dancing! As the night wound down, guests grabbed a sparkler to wish Rebecca + Jacob off into a bright, exciting future as Mr. & Mrs.!

Advice to Future Couples: Rebecca suggests that future brides and grooms take time “to enjoy every second of the day and take it in because it will fly by.” From early morning hours of your wedding day, you’ll be on a schedule to ensure you have all your pictures taken, walk down the aisle on time, and have plenty of time to celebrate that evening. Take time to enjoy each moment with your spouse by your side – everyone is there for you two! She also “can't stress enough to not sweat the small things, everything will come together the day of and it will be perfect.” Rebecca + Jacob had an incredible team of wedding vendors who ensured their day was executed perfectly. We wish we could be celebrating this sweet couple again on their one year anniversary today! Cheers to many more years of love and happiness together Mr. & Mrs. Pedley!
