Meredith + William: An Enchanting Evening

2019 brought us double the fun this year, just months apart from each other. These two gorgeous twin sisters both got married at Oakland Farm! Rebecca (the bride in the pictures below) married Jacob on June 10, and her twin sister, Meredith (the Maid of Honor in pink below) married William on November 2! If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve already seen highlights from Rebecca and Jacob’s perfect summer wedding, but you can find more on their photographer, Tiffany L. Johnson’s, blog.

Tiffany also photographed Meredith & William’s wedding day, and these gorgeous shots will most definitely warm you up on this chilly December day! Meredith and William have been a part of each other’s lives since middle school! November 2nd was a special day not only because it’s the day they tied the knot, but also their 8 year anniversary!

The Party: After a Bridal Luncheon and Rehearsal Dinner at local restaurants in nearby downtown Sanford, Meredith and her favorite ladies returned to the Farm for her last sleepover as a Miss! Saturday morning started with an early wakeup call as hair and makeup artists arrived to work their magic on the glowing girls that filled the Farmhouse. They popped champagne and added splashes of orange juice to complement their morning coffee which would fuel them for the exciting day ahead.

Once all the hair was sprayed, lipstick applied, and shoes were strapped, the stunning ladies got the first view of Meredith in her gorgeous gown from Coastal Knot. The lace sleeves, low-cut back and long train could not have been more perfect for the Bride. Bridesmaids wore taupe Dessy, floor-length, crepe gowns with trumpet skirts from Bella Bridesmaids. Billowing white flowers and greenery filled Meredith’s cascading bouquet and were the perfect touch for this simple, classic wedding.

Meanwhile, William and his entourage listened to updates on the NC State v. Wake Forest football game while tying their bowties and sliding on their tuxedo jackets. Once our Bride and Groom put on their finishing touches, they met just outside the Farmhouse for the sweetest first look. No one wanted to miss this, even if it meant the bridesmaids hiding under the pergola to catch a glimpse! This couple absolutely radiates love, and Tiffany L. Johnson Photography did an amazing job capturing their intimate moments, their last before the rings!

Meredith, William and their stunning bridal party, hopped on a party bus to take them to First Baptist Church where they would say “I do” in the 126-year-old sanctuary, the same place where Meredith’s parents and her twin sister were married! When they returned to Oakland for their reception, the bus was filled with joy and fun tunes to kick off the party!

Draping caught your eye as soon as you walked in the Barn, and Ted’s Flower Basket really outdid themselves on the elevated white and green floral arrangements sprinkled across the guest tables. My favorite part of Meredith’s décor was a beautiful boxwood greenery wall featuring watercolor paintings of places that were special to her and her beau. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my own copy of the Oakland Farm painting!

Lounge areas with comfy couches and personalized greenery walls could be found both inside the Barn and outside for guests to mingle; plus, they were great for a photo op! Throughout the guest tables, beautiful engagement photos were hanging on the walls in gold frames atop boxwood pieces.

As guests arrived, they grabbed a beverage at the indoor bar and enjoyed a delicious spread from Gigi’s Creations. Angie Mundy and her team had the buffet table filled with a slider bar, roasted corn, shrimp and grits, crab dip, and a drool-worthy mixed greens salad. Walking through the Barn you’d also find a mashed potato bar and a charcuterie station featuring a variety of cheeses, meats and crackers. The beautiful three-tiered cake, made by Christine Gautier, would practically melt in your mouth! And if you weren’t a fan of cake, outside was a cozy smores bar with all kinds of chocolates (even Reese’s!), graham cracker flavors and hundreds of marshmallows. DJ Randy kept everyone dancing until it was time to send off the newlyweds! Everyone grabbed a sparkler and cheered Mr. & Mrs. Carter into their next adventure together! Next stop for the happy couple? Sandals Jamaica!
