Lindsey + Matt: Something Blue for a Wedding in June

“Something borrowed, something new, something old, something blue…” You’ll hear some of our more traditional brides reference this saying on their wedding day. According to the wives tale, if you’re wearing something from each of these categories while walking down the aisle, you’ll have good luck and a lasting marriage.

Our last weekend of June was all about Lindsey + Matt, and you can find pops of something blue throughout their wedding day! Their choice for using blue wasn’t to follow the old adage, but you could see the things that “blue” symbolizes throughout their ceremony and reception - love, purity and fidelity. These three things are the keys to a strong marriage, and there’s no doubt Lindsey + Matt have a strong foundation.

This sweet couple met while working at the YMCA after school program. When they graduated from East Carolina University, he proposed on the beach at Emerald Isle with “Marry Me” light up letters. Surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated their engagement and began wedding planning!

Lindsey chose an incredible vendor team to bring her wedding vision to life. KatieDid Florals and Decoraciones Sonia transformed the Barn and Pavilion with beautiful white draping and stunning floral arrangements with pops of blue. The florals were the perfect compliment to the bridesmaids’ light blue chiffon Azazie dresses. And of course, Lindsey’s dress was nothing short of perfection! The intricate lace bodice with the long flowing train is what every little girl dreams of. Plus, her fun Betsey Johnson shoes were a touch of fun (and comfy) as she laced up to walk down the aisle! Enjoy all the beautiful details captured by Cooks Photo & Film!

Lindsey + Matt said their favorite memory was being introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Doidge for the first time. Plus, their bridal party’s entrance into the reception was pretty unforgettable. Each pair did something fun - some showed off their favorite dance move, one pair put on Carolina Hurricanes gear, or chugged a beer. And the crowd roared for the newlyweds!

Cheers to Mr. + Mrs. Doidge! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!
